A word about Robin Williams death: depression and mood disorders (such as bipolar) are not simply being sad or some failure of character. They are actual illnesses, often because of a biological cause like a chemical imbalance. It does not mean a lack of spirituality. When someone dies from a suicide due to a mental illness like depression, that is not a failure in them. It is a tragedy -- of an illness taking anothers life, no less so as if they had died of any other disease. This is a shout out of support to the many people I know living, struggling, and some of them thriving as people with a mental illness. You people are beautiful. You are inspiration. And dont let anyone shame you for an experience they dont understand.
