A word from Pastor Darrin..... Doing what YOU are called to do. We had our first finance class last night at the church. We didnt get into budgeting, investing, taxes, or passive income streams. We did, however, discuss something much more important, and that was the subject of purpose! Purpose, personal vision, calling, destiny, or whatever you want to call it! Purpose is of the utmost importance! What moves you? What keeps you up at night? What is that one thing you would choose to do in life, if you could only choose one thing? I love music! Music moves me! Music gives me joy and fulfillment! As a matter of fact I feel some calling to produce music that changes people and touches their lives in a deep way! I also love touching peoples lives in other ways, like preaching Gods Word and ministering faith, strength, and hope to people! I love leading and orchestrating things! I love vision and dreaming about what to create in the future! All of these things, as well as other things, MOVE ME! When I do them they bring me GREAT JOY and true satisfaction! Traci Green, one of our praise and worship leaders here at Melody, made a comment yesterday that really spoke to me. She said, When you do what you love, you dont have to work a day in your life! What she meant was, when you do what you truly love, its not really work to you! Doing what you love gives you true meaning and a sense of accomplishment! True fulfillment! My wife is a very task driven person! She is built that way! I get more of my energy from thinking and dreaming! If Laura doesnt accomplish her to do list for the day, then she can tend to feel very unfulfilled! The point is, do what you were MADE to do! Each of us have certain skill sets and personality traits that equip us to do certain things very well! Do what YOU were CALLED to do! I want to encourage you today to take some time to search your heart. Ask yourself some questions like, am I doing what Im called to do and what I love to do? Am I doing what I was made to do?
