A word of advice from one of our precious fans regarding heartworm prevention. She wrote: FYI. I had a Pomeranian. Lots of hair and an inside dog. She only went outside to use the bathroom. I stopped giving her Heartguard, because what were the odds? Guess what? Yep, she got heart worms. She went through the treatment and lived a few months. Dont do what I did. Even if they are inside dogs and long haired it just takes one infected mosquito to bite them. Who knows the mosquito may have been in the house and bit her. Its not worth taking a chance. RIP Roxie.
