A word to the downcast from one of our congregants - A must read! At Ziklag David finds himself at the lowest of the low. A strange statement considering whats happened to this point. But at Ziklag he loses not just his physical reality, but his heart. A devastating loss for a deeply emotional man. His family is taken, friends turn on him, hes stripped of his position.... truly nothing left. In the midst of this he does something truly remarkable, beyond the realms of human understanding, He strengthens himself in The Lord. How was that even possible? You see for children of the light, when we hit our lowest of the low, its not the bottom of the barrel were knocking up against but the palm of our Fathers hand. And as we realize this, His hand closes around us, not to crush but to defend, to sustain, to uphold. To take back whats been stolen, to reclaim our lives, our families, our destinies. David turns to God and says, do I go after them, and God says Go. And by the Fathers hand he takes back all that had been taken from Him. As sons and daughters of the Light, beloved of our Father, we choose to strengthen ourselves in Him and take back whats been stolen from us, our joy, our hope, our destinies.
