A year ago today, November 4, 2013, I left LA for Manila. I arrived on the 6th which was also my late father Atty. Remigio T. Ramirez death anniversary. Immediately, after I made a few goals. Some I started right away, others put off for later. One of the things I started right away, was boatbuilding. Which I started by looking for the appropriate boat plans. Now, I have decided on the boat, finished the pre building stage and have finished cutting the wood for the 11 frame stations for it. It was interrupted only when I started working on getting my CPA license and PICPA membership in order. To enable me to get accreditation from the BIR(Bureau of Internal Revenue) to start a private accounting practice. Now, I got my CPA license back and PICPA membership renewed. All I need to do is take a 1-day seminar on Thursday and I will be filing for my accreditation. Just in time for the end of year tax deadline. Looking back, it has been a year filled with happiness and accomplishment. Who would have thought that after 24 years of being away. I could get my CPA license back and be able to practice just like that. That made my decision to come home even better. Here I am now again a full fledged CPA while in the US just another Filipino-American Vet. Thank you to my Uncle Jimmy, Auntie Malou and to Auntie Venice Carbonel for all their help during my time in LA. Last but not least the family of Uncle Rey Serdenia for taking me in during my time in Phoenix, AZ.
