A year ago today(ish) we reopened after last years severe snowstorm closed us down for a couple days. We could not get deliveries and our staff was thin. We got hit hard that night and I assumed it was people just itching to get out of the homes they had been stuck in. As I went table to table apologizing for the longer than usual cook times and larger than usual 86 list I was surprised by the positive attitude I was getting from my guests. Really, NO ONE is upset Im out of bread? I approached a family of 6 to grab a drink order and tell them a server would get to them just as quick as we could and the father pulled me in and said something Ill never forget the rest of my life. Arec, no one here cares about the wait. Were all here to support you because we know how hard it is to be closed for even a few days. I dont care what youre out of, just cook us whatever you got and let us pay you for it. I actually tear up a bit as I type it. I didnt know most of you a year prior to that night. Yet, the community came out simply to support a small business after a few days without sales. To anyone who came in that night, or any night before, or any night after, my family and I say THANK YOU!
