A year ago today ten people were killed when a police helicopter crashed into The Clutha Vaults bar in Glasgow. Our thoughts and prayers are with those lost and those they left behind. Police Scotland Chief Constable Sir Stephen House said: “My thoughts, and the thoughts of all officers and staff, are with the families of the ten people who lost their lives on November 29 in the Clutha Vaults Bar. “I want to recognise the support shown in the past 12 months to all those affected by the events of that Friday night in November which has come not only from the people of Glasgow but communities well beyond. “The first anniversary of the disaster is a milestone which will evoke many thoughts, memories and feelings amongst those who lost loved ones, colleagues or friends, the many ordinary citizens and volunteers who saw events unfold and who assisted in the immediate aftermath, and the emergency service crews who carried out an unprecedented rescue and recovery operation. “Police Scotland will be represented at a memorial service in Glasgow on November 29, marking the anniversary, by Assistant Chief Constable Bernard Higgins. The service will remember those who lost their lives in such tragic circumstances.” #RIP
