A young couple traveled the one hundred miles necessary to visit - TopicsExpress

A young couple traveled the one hundred miles necessary to visit the temple in a neighboring state. It took less than two hours to make the trip and they were grateful for the opportunity to go and for the closeness of the beautiful edifice that the Lord had provided for the surrounding LDS communities to serve in. As they pulled into the parking lot of the temple, they felt the disheartening thump thump of a newly formed flat tire on their vehicle. As they exited the vehicle they confirmed that indeed, their tire was flat. Determined not to let this discouraging development bring them down now, they decided to go ahead into the temple and change the damaged tire after their session was completed and they had more time to deal with it. Their time in the temple was beautiful and inspiring. After they had changed back into their street clothing they returned to the parking lot to determine what needed to be done to repair their tire and make the journey home. To their great surprise, they found a brand new tire installed in place of the flattened one with a note that read, “Thank you for serving in the Temple today. Have a wonderful day.” With the sheading of a few grateful tears and with a prayer of thanksgiving, the couple started for home determined to continue their temple service and pay-it-forward if they ever had the opportunity to do so. Immediate and obvious blessing like this will not always be the case as we serve in the House of the Lord, but we will always be blessed… as well those who have passed on before us.
