A young lady with three young kids called and said that she needed to see me. When I availed myself, I could see clearly that she was in distress. She narrated to me that she and her kids were living with her parents for the past one year. This state of affairs is because she went down with depression, which resulted in her losing her job and also struggling just to get through life. Her parents were providing for her and her children, including financing her treatment for depression. This got me thinking; should anyone their spouse coz of a health condition? I have been through depression myself and I know that a depressed person is tough for those around the person. I also know that loving support is very powerful in supporting the affected person to bounce back. Abandoning the person at the time of need only delays their recovery process.
