AAIM: PGP Kaley Boeckmann [email protected] via googlegroups AttachmentsAug 29 (1 day ago) to aaim-members Responses to PGP. Thanks, as always:) Your advice definitely made this whole PGP task seem more doable:) I was making it more difficult than it really is. 1. I will create an evaluation tool for the library media program and utilize the data given from the tool to improve the library media program. 2. I will utilize self-assessments and rubrics to assess student learning in the library media center. 4D - Participating in a professional community - AAIM fits this, as well as LM_NET. Dont forget any organizations like ALA, etc. Even your district/school level PLCs apply. This is an easy one to artifact - show membership forms, print-outs of emails youve responded to - things like that. Plus, its good for you! 2B - Establishing a Culture for Learning - Any displays - especially seasonal/themed displays could be artifacted for this. Reading areas, posters announcing new books, anything that would promote reading/learning could be included. Again, easy to document and its good PR for you! 3A - Communicating with Members of the Learning Community - I document/artifact this with emails. I find all sorts of things on this listserv as well as LM_NET to share with my core content teachers. I forward it to them, print a copy, and stick it in my binder. (Guess Ill upload now were using bloomboard...but you know what I mean.) I send out notices of new books, instructions for accessing databases, etc. Anything I send to teachers I document (for my protection as well) and its considered communicating! These are three easy things you are probably already doing. Including it in the PGP makes it a focus and makes you more aware of whats going on in your library. Hope this helps! I am focusing on assessments and collaborating with teachers on research assignments. One of my goals is to conduct Collection Development through my OPAC (Alexandria), through Folletts Collection Wise service and through Capstone Publishings service. Im going to compare the results and then write out an actual Collection Plan. Ive had a rough mental plan for several years but Im going to do it more formally. Just pull up the TESS Library/Media Rubric from the ADE website and choose 3 to work on. Mine for this year will be better communication with faculty and community (3a). arkansased.org/public/userfiles/HR_and_Educator_Effectiveness/TESS/TESS%20for%20Specialty%20Areas/Library%20Media%20Spec/LM%20Specialist%20Rubric.pdf I’m working on collaboration with teachers. Connecting the things we do in the library to what they are learning in their content classes. It is very “common core” and shouldn’t be difficult to have artifacts for. I did one of mine on collaboration with teachers. Here are some I have saved that have been share. Also look on the hooray for books site – published by the ADE. Hope this helps!
