AAP ka ankhon dekha haal... Being Quoted with permission... I - TopicsExpress

AAP ka ankhon dekha haal... Being Quoted with permission... I hope I am wrong about this...but I predict that AAP will utterly implode under the weight of its own inconsistencies. Kejriwal is a nice guy. But nice guy is not enough. I just wish the guy had just shown the public five years of running Delhi. Instead, he believed that if he could have been CM in two months, he could be PM in six. All the free publicity in the world (and he has had more than his fair share) cannot hide the fact that AAP has no positive platform, they are just a anti party...we know what he is vehemently against (corruption) but what is he for? We all love idealists who keep getting slapped and sending flowers and fruits to their attackers. But no, this version of the protest party is, dare I say it, too slapdash... Maybe one day a substantial anti-corruption party can take root in India although I fail to see how it will get financed without reforming the corrupt party funding system that exists in this country. Maybe Kejru can still redeem himself in Delhi in the upcoming assembly elections, but it will be difficult. They have lost the core middle class support in Delhi (I speak from ground level experience) and waded into the murky vote bank politics of playing with SC/ST/muslim vote banks. Who knows whether it will pay them electoral dividends in the long run...but it is no longer a party that middle class folks can identify with. I know many will disagree with my assessment, and thats fair enough. But I have just fought a campaign for three weeks in Kejriwals own constituency, and I write it as I see it.
