AAP to welcome dreaded Maoist Panda? Have they lost their mind? Sabyasachi Panda is a dreaded Maoist. He was the fountainhead of the Kandhamal riots that resulted in the killing of at least 38 people. In 2008, he killed the Hindu monk, Swami Laxmanand Saraswati, in Kandhamal hoping that the ensuing riots against Christians “would swell the ranks of Communist Party of India (Maoist)”. He has a bounty of Rs. 5 lakh on his head. He is known to carry a rifle along with him, besides being escorted by his numerous female aides. The Odisha Police has initiated a massive search operation to nab him, and they came close to killing him on the February 15, this year. He is the leader of an armed guerilla group that has been exploiting the tribals of Odisha, ransacking police stations, and abducting foreign tourists.
