AAUW--BERYL AMSPOKER and AAUW--MADELINE CHAPMAN SCHOLARSHIPS The American Association of University Woman has as its goals the academic excellence and promotion of equality for all women and girls, lifelong education, positive societal goals, commitment to improving the human condition, and the promise of making a continued impact on ones community following a university degree. Beryl Amspoker was a charter member of the Antelope Valley Branch of the AAUW and was active in building its membership from 1950 until her death in 2010. For more than 60 years, she worked to protect and advance the progress of women and girls in every aspect of their education. Madeline Chapman was a charter member and the first president from 1950-1952. These scholarships are given in their memory.
