ABAC, Assumption Business Administration College, was the name - TopicsExpress

ABAC, Assumption Business Administration College, was the name when I took an entrace exam at the age of 17 upon return from Adelaide, South Australia, spent 3.5 years, graduated from General Management major and thought I would never be back to one of the most demanding institutions. 1995, I was back, straight right back from Manchester England, Dr. Patricia Atachariya who was my chairwoman was also in the UK doing her PhD got hold of me when I was in Manchester and brought me back to ABAC, then became AU, Assumption University already, assigned me to lecture Project Management given my MBA which I did earlier in Washington DC in Logistics and Operations Mgt. That was the starting point of my journey with ABAC from 1995 to date, 2013. Almost 2 decades in the department of Business Economics, General Management, International Business, and longest service in Industrial Management which was then Insurance and Risk Management which I first was invited to join this major. Good superiors who alwasy gave the message of "Thanks" every semester, personal touch, personal care, mutual respect, kept me here for so long. Many asked why I am still here. One of the reasons is the bosses who appreciate me and what I have to contribute. And it is a part of my life already...after teaching 24 subjects, almost both BBA and MSc and now MBA... ABAC students are tough. They are meant to be. If you understand ABAC history, you would understand that its culture was formed by students from Assumption College, Assumption Commercial College, St. Gabriel Collect whose students were and are all Chinese Merchants who run SMEs of Thailand. They were, are all businessmen and so they were and are tough and that was the base of the cultures of ABAC. You have to survive or you wont survive, as simply as that. ABAC has changed over the years, more activities, more social interacton but the core culture of toughness is still there. This group is my 11 or 12th year of IDM students (industrial management) 6 hours in exam, witness them before and after photoes... Poor young future entrepreneurs... with their work which they worked 6 hours on... who excel who stumble... the results show for itself. My subject is for graduating students... and so these students will embark on a new journey of their lives after this semester. I wish them all the best.... and if they can graduate and with the right mindset, and given time to sort out their personal challenges, they would do well anywhere. Tough kids, need tough professor to control.... would let them get an easy ride for sure..... Good luck and all the best.
