ABIDE IN JESUS MOMENT BY MOMENT! He breaks off every branch in me - TopicsExpress

ABIDE IN JESUS MOMENT BY MOMENT! He breaks off every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and he prunes every branch that does bear fruit, so that it will be clean and bear more fruit. (John 15:2 GNT) Unless a child of God abides in Jesus and Jesus in Him, the life of God can not flow through him. If the life of God does not flow through you as a child of God, whatever you do for God is dead work, which does not receive any reward from Him. Why do you do what you do? What is your motivation? The reward of a philanthropist who is self driven may be rewarding in bringing relief to suffering humanity, but may never receive any commendation from God as long as He has nor received Jesus into his life as his Lord and Saviour. Your drive to do good must first of all originate in God because you listen to His voice, else you will be self driven, and you will love to keep some of the glory to yourself. Whatever originates in God leaves the glory for God wholly. Why obedience to God suffers a great setback today is because people think they have something useful to offer God by their own abilities, without them realising that man is nothing without his life in God. Obedience takes us to the place of death to self. It brings us to the place where we decrease and He increases through us. The very day I realised that I had nothing in me to offer God apart from what I received from Him first, I lost the desire to boast of anything I possessed except my wretch self that was bought by the precious of blood of Jesus on that Calvary cross where my sin was nailed forever. THE SERVANTS ATTITUDE The servant does not deserve thanks for obeying orders, does he? It is the same with you; when you have done all you have been told to do, say, ‘We are ordinary servants; we have only done our duty.’” (Luke 17 :9-10) Always count it a privilege doing what you do, as the Lord commands you. It does not give room for any form of ego, as if without God you are something. Jesus taught His disciples the truth in the text above from Luke 17:9-10. We will either have to accept it or reject it. However, whether we accept it or reject it shows our position with God, whether with Him or not. The truth Jesus taught His disciples here, was the same attitude He had in relating to His Fathers commands when He left heaven to come and serve humanity as revealed in Mark 10:45 and Philippians 2:5-7. Knowledge of the Word or becoming a student of the Word of God will place this truth before you without question. GO TO WORK! After a student learns, he goes to work with the truth he has learned. How does this reveal your obedience to God? How does it encourage you to do more than you think you are doing now? This is because you know that as God lives in you, He enables you to work for His good pleasure. Whatever you do at His bidding never goes unrewarded. We do not work for the reward, but we work and obey God because we love Him as He loved us and came for us in our wretched nature. When He tells you to forgive your brother as many times as he comes to you for forgiveness, He wants you to know that He is the one doing the forgiveness through you because He lives in you. When you refuse to forgive, you stand unforgiven by God as well the merciful are always shown mercy by God. (Matt.5:7) GODS LIFE IS IN YOU How is Gods life in you? Gods life flows in you by your abiding in the Word and doing what He commands. This is your mark of obedience to God and your love for God. You cannot practice disobedience towards God and you still claim His life is flowing in you because you stand the danger of being cut off and thrown away. Do have a blessed walk with God through the comfort of His Spirit in Jesus name. Jesus is Lord! Note: I never wake up and plan what to write. As I receive the message that moment, I sit and write then post.
