ABOUT AEGISLASH In the early X/Y metagame Aegislash was seen as a Swords Dance Sweeper but over the months people discovered Its mixed offensive capabilities which it can use to break through any wall. Its one of the most unique pokemon and a great display of competitive spirit and creativity. Aegislash with the Stance Change is essentially rocking BST of 720. It can Head Smash Mandibuzz, Shadow Ball Landorus-T and Hippowdon is irrelevant, although Sub-Toxic can deal with it. The rest of the metagame gets pretty much 2HKOd with a proper move. Nothing can safely switch into Aegislash when you have to guess whether it physical, special or mixed. Steel/Ghost is an amazing typing both defensively and offensively. With its low speed stat Aegislash can abuse its ability to first absorb hits in shield form and then retaliate in blade form. Checking Aegislash isnt easy either when it can sponge even many powerful super effective hits. Not to mention Balloon is used often to dodge common EQs. (252+ Atk Mold Breaker Excadrill Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Aegislash-Shield: 260-308 (80.2 - 95%) -- guaranteed 2HKO) Aegislash is a great asset for hyper offense, stall and balanced playstyles. That makes it a popular choice for any team which is why you always have to prepare for it. With Kings Shield it can turn the tables around like no other. Aegilash is center of the metagame but now that its gone it wont be holding back pokemon such as Lati@s, Hawlucha, M-Alakazam, M-Medicham, M-Gardevoir, Breloom and others. With Aegislash gone, Smogon OU metagame will be healthier. We all got used to Aegislash so seeing it gone from the metagame (we volunteerly choose to follow) is a bit sad. We all found ways to deal with it but its presense always brough sheer pressure to a battle no other pokemon could.
