ABOUT HALF OF AMERICANS DONT TRUST POLICE ACCORDING TO A STUDY - In Pueblo, Colorado it might be higher according to our local two year survey, and in Pueblo people definitely dont trust Internal Affairs ability to investigate complaints against the Pd. Almost zero in Pueblo think that the police can police themselves, they say the police internal complaints system doesnt even respond to complaints for months, they are hostile and even threaten people from complaining. This has been effective, *the bullying of people complaining* by IA since the Pueblo PD doesnt appear to really want complaints, they only received 38 last year on officers and other complaints were from officers complaining about fellow officers. Pueblo, this means even the *good cops* of Pueblo are sick of the bad cops that we call the dirty dozen and then some. Pueblo citizens, a barber on the South Side suggested in any interaction with a cop, before any discussion ask for their card, ask them to put the name of their supervisor on the card and ask for the number of Internal Affairs. Hold them accountable by doing this at least - and pull out your cell phone cameras, or install security cameras at your home and encourage neighborhoods to do the same, especially on the East and South Side where the dirty dozen and then some cops patrol and abuse, according to residents. QUOTE FROM NATIONAL STUDY - Americans are 60 percent confident in police, while non-whites checked in at 48 percent. But in recent years, public trust in police has slid. A 2009 poll found that 63 percent of respondents of all races said police had “very high honesty and ethical standards,” but that number dropped to 57 percent the following year. In 2014 in the light of Ferguson we expect that a study would show that trust has declined below 50 percent.
