ABOUT ME: Hi my name is Arsalan Ahmed and I am currently 1st Year Councillor for the ISSS. I want to run for Vice President Community to help facilitate a comfortable transition through your undergraduate life and to relieve concerns of fellow students. My experience makes me a strong candidate for this role; I am currently an elected member of the ISSS, I am on the Executive Youth Council for the YMCA, and am in the process of building a free medical clinic abroad. My goal for VPC would be to bring COSSA groups to the forefront in future ISSS programming, offer free & online student-led exam tutorials for undergraduate science courses near midterm and finals, and personalize the volunteer experience and create more lucrative, long term positions. The opportunity make the ISSS more than just another club at the UofA is a challenge worth taking on; the piece de resistance that makes or breaks an organization is not money, but the people within it who give its existence a sense of purpose.
