ABOUT NATIONAL POLICE WEEK... In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, DC to participate in a number of planned events which honor those who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. This year, May 11-17, 2014 is National Police Week. Please join us this coming Monday, May 12, 2014 @ 9:00 a.m. In honor of our local heroes that gave the ultimate sacrifice and as a show of support for the brave men and women of law enforcement. The star on the mountain will also be lit in blue in honor of National Police Week. All are also encouraged to tie a blue ribbon to your car antenna to show your support.
