ABSTRACT The Republic of Indonesia is a democratic country. Indonesia is the third largestdemocratic country in the world. Meaning of democracy itself is a government inwhich supreme power is held by the people. And democratic government is runfrom the people, by the people and for the people. Democracy in Indonesia isshown by the legislative elections are conducted openly with the determination of a majority vote (voting), the independent community in the expression of opinionand expression and freedom of the press in the media discourse.Referring to the common definition of democracy on behalf of the people as thesupreme authority, felt able to guide and bring the Indonesian governmenttowards a better and more civilized. Transition to democracy in Indonesia, whichhas yet to be a good democracy is more due to state laws that underlie Indonesiacan not promise democracy. In this paper we will try to elaborate on theimplementation of democracy in the post-reform Indonesia until now and so on.
