ABUJA REPORTS Major roads leading in and out of the Eagle Square in the Central Business District of Abuja will be closed to vehicular traffic on Tuesday between the hours of 5am and 8pm. The road diversion is as a result of the planned formal declaration by President Goodluck Jonathan for re-election holding at the Eagle Square. Speaking to AIT, FCT Commissioner of Police, Wilson Inalegwu advised motorists coming into the city centre to take alternative routes# It has been seven weeks since the Executive Committee of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) placed a ban on the collection of tenement rates by the six area councils. Investigations by AIT however indicate that the council authorities are issuing fresh notices on residents of the Territory demanding payment of tenement rates# FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed has approved the appointment of Abubakar Sadiq as his new chief of staff.
