ACADEMIC ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES: North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command announce the 2014 Joint Training Education and Academic Workshop, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, June 4-5, 2014. The event will be held at NORAD and USNORTHOCM Headquarters, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. Academic institutions with program focuses in homeland defense and security are welcome to attend the workshop. The JTEAW provides the Military Education Coordination Council and other academic institution representatives with updates on the commands mission areas in order to ensure homeland defense/security academic programs are kept relevant and current. The MECC addresses key educational issues of interest to the joint education community, promotes cooperation and collaboration among the MECC member institutions, and serves as an advisory body to the Director, Joint Staff, on joint education issues. A secret clearance is required to attend the JTEAW and seating is limited.
