ACADEMY OF MUSIC, DANCE AND FINE ARTS - PLOVDIV DEPARTMENT OF LANGUAGE AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION The Department of Language and Professional Education (DLPE) was established in the beginning of 2000/2001. It unites and manages the types of educational training, the acquiring of an additional and post-graduate qualification and specialization at the Academy Courses for professional education in the sphere of art and language mastering for Bulgarian and foreign citizens are held therein. І. Preparatory training courses for university applicants: PEDAGOGY OF MUSIC EDUCATION ART OF PERFORMING – Classic, Pop-Jazz, Folk instruments or Singing CONDUCTING FOLK GROUPS BULGARIAN FOLK CHOREOGRAPHY BALLET ART PEDAGOGY OF THE EDUCATION IN FINE ARTS SCENOGRAPHY ECCLESIASTICAL OIL PAINTING GRAPHIC DESIGN AND PHOTOGRAPHY CLOTHING DESIGN 1. Short-term courses (up to 2 weeks). They are held in April and June. 2. One-year courses – for Bulgarians and foreigners. The education is directed to the complete preparation of the applicant–students for the entrance examinations for all the academic subjects in AMDFA. ІІ. A course for acquiring pedagogical competence “Teacher of music. Herein, the applicants with higher education are majoring in “Conducting folk groups and “Instrumental Art in AMDFA, as well as those from the Faculty of Music Instrumental of the National Academy of Music “Pancho Vladigerov – Sofia. ІІІ. A course for acquiring pedagogical competence “Teacher of fine arts. Herein, the applicants with higher education are majoring in the sphere of fine arts. ІV. Courses for additional qualification and for acquiring professional competence “………………Teacher (for those who graduated higher education): • Instrument (classical or folk one); • Singing (classical or folk); • Bulgarian folk dances • Fine arts V. Processional training in various art trends: • musical instrument (classical or folk one); • singing (classic, pop-jazz, folk); • conducting the folk groups (choir, orchestra, opera one or of a brass-bend; • education in musical theory and methodology of training; • Bulgarian folk dances; • piano accompaniment; • photography and graphic design; • fashion and costumes; • scenography; • iconography • apparel designer • computer sheet music • DJ The term of the education is from one to four semesters. An opportunity the curriculum and the time of majoring to be fixed according to the request of the students. VІ. Post-graduation qualifications Music Instructor at Kindergartens Apparel designers Sound engineering Musical therapy Special pedagogy and special psychology The term of education is within two semesters. VІІ. Post-graduation qualification for preparing staff of teachers of music and fine arts for work with children with SEN (specific educational needs). VІІІ. Master classes, studios and workshops for improving the skills in the different spheres of arts, held by prominent Bulgarian and foreign artists. ІХ. Courses for additional education of students in subjects, which are not included in their curriculums: • Bulgarian folk dances with methodology of their teaching – the term of the education is 2 semesters; • Bulgarian authentic music folklore for students with special subject accordion – 2 semesters; • organ – from 2 to 6 semesters; • second musical instrument – 7 semesters; • block flute and methodology of education – 1 semester; • sheet music (computer training) – 1 semester. • principles of the music management– 1 semester The courses held by DLPE provide opportunities for improving the knowledge and skills in various trends of art and the language education. The higher professionalism of the teaching staff contributes to the efficiency of the educational process. The acquired qualification helps the graduates in their future pedagogic and creative work. Certificates, approved by the Ministry of Education and Science are provided to those who have successfully passed the courses. FOREIGN STUDENTS GENERAL TERMS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE FOREGN CITIZENS, BEING APPLICANTS FOR EDUCATION IN AMDFA - PLOVDIV The foreign citizens may apply: - by adhering to the intergovernmental agreements for scientific, cultural and educational exchange; - in conformity with the decrees of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria; - by paying for their education; - following European programmes for academic exchange. The foreign citizens may apply for education in ADMFA - Plovdiv: - for bachelor and master programmes for full-term of education; - education in Bulgarian language for one academic year (language and specialized education); - post-graduation specialized trainings (from 1 to 12 months); - Doctor’s degrees. The applicants must correspond to the following requirements: - for bachelor programmes – the applicants must have a graduated secondary education, providing an opportunity for applying for education at institutions of higher education in the country, where the secondary education has been acquired; - for master degree programmes – the applicants must have graduated higher education (minimum Bachelor degree); - for the special training – graduated higher education; - for doctor’s degrees – higher education (master). For master’s and bachelor’s degrees and specialized trainings The candidates must possess good command of Bulgarian language or to pass a course of education in Bulgarian language (language or specialized education) for one academic year. The applicants applying under intergovernmental agreements submit documents in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science through the respective institutions of competence in the country, from where they apply. The university applicants are admitted following the rules and regulations, specified within the intergovernmental agreements, defined by the international agreements, after they have been coordinated with ADMFA. The applicants of Bulgarian nationality, willing to be educated in conformity with the decrees of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria, must submit their documents to the Ministry of Education Youth and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria. They are admitted under the rules and regulations, specified in the respective decree of the Council of Ministers. The applicants for paid education submit their documents in AMDFA. After approval AMDFA shall send the documents for concordance with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science. MEYS issues a Certificate for acquiring visa for education. The applicants possessing double nationality, one of which is Bulgarian, submit their documents to AMDFA. Foreign citizens may apply for education under the rules and regulations for admitting Bulgarian citizens as well, if: 1. they have the status of permanently residing citizens on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria; 2. they have the status of refugees; 3. they are of Bulgarian nationality, certified pursuant to Decree № 103 from 1993 for the education among Bulgarians abroad; 4. they are citizens of a member state of the European Union and the European Economic Area. The applicants under the rules and regulations for admitting Bulgarian citizens, herein including those under i.3 and i.4 are admitted within the annually certified by the Council of Ministers number of students. Those who apply under the rules and regulations for admitting Bulgarian citizens, submit their documents within the terms, specified for Bulgarian citizens. Upon submitting documents, the applicants’ diplomas must have passed the procedure for recognition by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science. The applicants present the diploma and the Certificate of recognition, issued by the MES. TERMS FOR APPLYING AT AMDFA - PLOVDIV The students applying for paid education at AMDFA- Plovdiv submit their documents at the Academy personally or through an authorized representative, as it follows: - after secondary education up to Sept. 15th; - for special trainings – currently. After confirming the admittance at AMDFA, the applicants file their diplomas for recognition at the Bulgarian Ministry of Education. VISAS FOR EDUCATION The approved applicants (who have acquired Certificate form MEYS) submit documents for acquiring visa for education at the Bulgarian diplomatic mission in thе country of which they are citizens. No visa is required for: - citizens of the member-states of the European Union and the European Economic Area; - the foreigners who permanently reside in the Republic of Bulgaria, who have applied and are admitted under the rules and regulations for the Bulgarian citizens; - applicants with double citizenship, one of which is Bulgarian. Additional information and consultations for the procedure for applying in AMDFA - Plovdiv: DOCUMENTS FOR APPLYING 1. An Application Form or a Request Form, containing brief biographic data, the subject in which the student is willing to be majoring in, the type and the term of education, the educational degree. The level of command of Bulgarian language and of other foreign languages are indicated. 2. Official translation of the diploma for graduated secondary education (herein including the Appendix with the grades) and/or academic record for the persons, applying for a partial term of education or for education of higher degree of education and qualification (for example for “master or bachelor degrees). 3. A document issued by the respective authority of competence, certifying the right of the applicant to continue his/her education at the schools of higher education in the country, where the secondary education has been acquired. 4. A medical certificate, issued in a one-month term before the date of applying and certified by the respective authorities of competence in the country, from where the person applies. 5. The diploma, the medical certificate and the document, specified under item 3 must be translated in Bulgarian language and certified by adhering to the regulations of the international agreements of the Republic of Bulgaria and the country, where they have been issued and upon lack of it – following the general terms for legalization, translation and certification of documents. The diplomas of education, issued by foreign schools and universities are obligatory legalized by the Ministry of Education Youth and Science. 6. A photocopy of an identity document (Passport, Identity Card) with the names of the applicant written in Roman alphabet, along with the date and place of birth. The persons with double citizenship, one of which is Bulgarian, submit both identity documents. In case there is a difference in the names of the applicant in his/her documents of identity, the latter must apply a notary certified statement for identity of names or a certificate issued by the municipal authorities. 7. A Declaration for financial provision of the university applicant during the time of his/her education. 8. 2 photos for documents. DOCUMENTS FOR ENROLLMENT IN AMDFA: 1. Valid International Passport with added visa type D for education in the Republic of Bulgaria. The citizens of the member-states of the European Union and the European Economic Area provide their national document of identity. The persons with double citizenship shall provide both Identity Documents (Bulgarian and of the foreign citizenship).
