ACC ARRESTED A POLICE OFFICER FOR GIVING FALSE INFORMATION. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested a police officer in Ndola for allegedly giving false information in a case involving former Copperbelt Province Police Commissioner Mary Tembo. Frederick Kabungo, 48, a Deputy District Criminal Investigations Officer of house number K18 in Kansenshi police camp, has been charged with one count of knowingly misleading officers of the ACC by giving a false statement contrary to section 63 (b) of the ACC Act number 3 of 2012. Details of the offense are that on dates unknown but between July 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014 in Kitwe and Lusaka, Kabungo misled ACC officers when he gave them false statements regarding his involvement and knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the change of ownership of a Toyota Corolla registration number AAX 5716 from Grizzly Mining Limited into the names of former Copperbelt Police Commissioner Mary Tembo. In a statement availed to media in Lusaka today, ACC Public Relations Manager, Timothy Moono said this was in a matter related to the arrest of the former Copperbelt Police Commissioner Mary Tembo. Ms. Tembo was arrested and charged with two counts of abuse of authority of office contrary to section 21(1)(b) of the ACC Act number 3 of 2012. http//zambianwatch
