ACCORD PARTY... #2015: Crisis Looms in Oyo Accord Party# Indications emerged yesterday the Accord Party’s boat may be rocked ahead of the 2015 general elections, as some aspirants on the platform of the party have begun to protest what they described as attempts to shortchange them by the party leadership to imposition of candidates. The aspirants, who spoke with Sunday Tribune on a condition of anonymity, said they were set for a showdown with the party, especially the leader, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, who they noted had begun to favour the candidature of some aspirants against the general interest of party faithful and aspirants who “suffered to build the party with him.” Though the aspirants zeroed in on the House of Representatives ticket of Ibadan North- East/ Ibadan South-East Federal Constituency, which they noted had been secretly given to a former chairman of Ibadan North-East and recent defector from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Gbenga Adewusi, popularly known as Arole Obasanjo, Sunday Tribune authoritatively gathered that aspirants for different positions across the state were spoiling for war over likely reported favouritism and imposition. It was gathered that the party would face a great hurdle in deciding what would become of Honourable Tayo Sarumi and other aspirants for the Senate in Oyo South, where Ladoja had allegedly anointed Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, following his celebrated defection to the Accord Party.
