ACKNOWLEDGEMENT His Grace, Archbishop Peter Loy Chong and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Suva, would like to sincerely thank all those who contributed towards the reguregu, vigil, resurrection mass and entombment of the late Archbishop Emeritus Petero Mataca. We thank the many Catholics and non Catholics from all over Fiji and abroad, who contributed so generously through the sharing of their time, talent, skills, energy and resources. We also thank the most reverend Bishop Denis Brown of Hamilton NZ for officiating at the vigil mass, and to the bishops, priests clergy, laity, choir and volunteers who assisted with preparations in the lead up to the funeral and with the vigil and resurrection mass. A sincere Vinaka Vakalevu to the Sisters of the Handmaid of the Eucharist who took care of Archbishop Mataca during his illness. Thank you to Mr James Raman who drew up the plans for the tomb; to Fortech who built it and to Mrs Theresa Chan who donated the coffin. Special gratitude to Fiji TV for providing the live broadcast of the resurrection mass and to the Fiji Times for providing space to feature Archbishop Mataca’s biography. Thank you to Mr Dom Sansom for the design of this Resurrection Mass booklet, Ms Debbie Singh for compiling it and Mr Netani Rika for the photograghs.
