ACT 3 SCENE 5: It was one of the most convincing acts of the early stage of a drug overdose I have ever seen, I was fooled for at least ten minutes while trying to simultaneously control the patient, concerned friends, bystanders and the club staff. I had an input of medical advice from every angle you could imagine but it was possibly my fault because to a drunk person the calm ones dont know what they are doing. She was all over the place but lucid enough to refuse my help or advice and while kidnapping is still illegal to EMS it had my hands tied while keeping me bound to the scene. My only avenue was to call for police assistance to force treatment based on my medical opinion. I made the call and let her know about it. This is when I noticed the flaw in her act. The reaction was the most sobering lull in her stellar act of paranoia, fainting, hallucinating and melancholy..she looked at me and begged for me not to involve the police. It was three in the morning and I as one of the two only sober and non party participants in the vicinity did not see the funny side of responding to who knows what or where and being subjected to an involuntary flashback on protocols, scenarios and potential cardiovascular shock...both hers and mine. I looked her in the eyes and said, you are a twenty one year old woman acting like a three year old child but because you are 21 and conscious I cannot decide for you, you have made your problems mine so I have reacted in the only way I can by making my problems yours. These sobering words brought the curtains down on the performance, ushered in mother from home and caused a stumbling ovation from the weekend medical professionals.
