ACTIVITES THIS WEEK: Monday August 25 – 7:00 PM - FHE: Organize Suitcases for Zimbabwe Missionaries --Meet at the ward building in the gym at 7:00PM. If you have signed up for a donation or still want to contribute, we are accepting any item or monetary donations at FHE. Tuesday August 26 - Temple Sealing Tuesday at the Salt Lake Temple. -- Come out to meet some new people while doing the Lord’s work to bring families together. Be at the Salt Lake Temple at 6:30 PM. Dress in full temple clothing and meet the group on the 3rd floor in sealing room #10 by 6:50 PM. From there they will take us to our assigned sealing rooms. See you there! Mid-Singles Institute: Wednesday nights “The Book of Mormon” taught by Sister Angela Allred. Classes are held on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM in the Primary room of the Parleys Stake Center. (1870 Parleys Canyon Blvd, 84106). Tuition is $10.00 per month and can be included on a tithing slip under “Other: Institute” or paid to Carol Evans or Lisa Cannon in class (exact change only.) Checks to be made payable to Parleys 7th Ward or The Church of Jesus Christ of LDS. Wednesday, August 27th: Parleys stake picnic; 7:00 pm -- join us at sugarhouse park for our annual stake picnic. UPCOMING ACTIVITIES: Wednesday, September 3 – 7:00 PM – Ward Temple Night -- Ward temple night 7:00pm at the Salt Lake Temple. Hope to see you there! LOOKING AHEAD: September 6 & 7 -- regional conference. Saturday meetings will be held at the parleys stake center; Sunday regional conference will be held at the conference center downtown. Sunday, September 7 – 7:00 PM – First Sunday Fireside -- Recently returning after having served as a Mission President, and having volunteered over 30 years to Highland High School as their Rugby Coach, Larry Gelwix has been referred to as “America’s Winningest Coach.” The movie Forever Strong is based on the story of Larry Gelwix’s time at Highland High School. Meet at 1200 East 12300 South, Draper. Light Refreshments will be served. Fireside is sponsored by The South Valley Stakes. 31+ Singles, Follow us on Facebook: South Valley Stakes Singles 31 Saturday, September 13 – 9:00 AM - Ward Hike Ward hike to Lake Mary in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Meet at Brighton in the large parking lot at 9:00 AM. We may see beautiful colors and wildlife along the trail. Bring your own water and snacks. September 21: Ogden temple re-dedication. No block meetings will be held this day. There will be 3 broadcast sessions for the re-dedication. More details to come. Saturday, September 27 – 5:00 PM – Share the Harvest Dinner and General Women’s Broadcast -- All women are invited to attend a dinner at Parleys Stake Center (1870 E. Parleys Canyon Blvd), 5pm on Sat. Sept. 27th prior to the General Womens Broadcast at 6pm. The dinner is in celebration and culmination of our communitys 2nd Annual Share The Harvest service opportunity. The Stake Relief Society will continue to take your surplus fruits, vegetables, herbs, berries, honey to the Utah Food Bank including those you bring with you that evening. Nonperishable food items (canned and packaged) and household or personal care items (toothpaste, soap, shampoo) are also welcome. Please continue to drop your donations off in the baskets located in the chapel foyers. Your sharing helps feed many children and families in need.
