ACTS 2:1-4 (NIV) [1] When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. [2] Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. [3] They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. [4] All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. ● “dunamis” ability and power comes from the touch of the God when we are baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. God provides power-power with a purpose! POWER WITH A PURPOSE. ACTS 1:8 (NIV) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses . . . 1. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit transforms the believer. ●Jesus said they will receive power and “WILL BE my witnesses.” Underline those two little words ‘WILL BE.’ Jesus has no doubt about the transformation that will take place within the hearts and lives of the disciples when they are baptized in the Holy Spirit. ●The baptism in the Holy Spirit gives you the power TO BE the witness God intends you to be. ● The experience of the disciples on the day of Pentecost is evidence of the transformation TO BE effective witnesses of Jesus Christ.
