ADDIE UPDATE!!! SEE POST FROM OUR SON , ANDREW BELOW...... Well... We have some good news and some bad news from the brain MRI and spinal fluid sample today. The good news is that the leukemia hasnt spread to the spinal fluid. Praise God for that! The bad news is that Addie has an infection in her brain. We are waiting for definite results from the spinal fluid samples, but the doctors are thinking that Addie may have some type of meningitis. She is in the PICU again for now so they can monitor her closely. It will probably take about 48 hours for the samples to show more specific details. Addies primary oncologist is division chief of the pediatric oncology department and said shes only had two of her patients develop meningitis. So needless to say, this is rare. Please pray that God gives the doctors wisdom to figure out exactly what this infection is in Addies brain. Pray that if it is meningitis, they figure out exactly what kind it is. Pray that Addie receives the proper treatment and it is effective. Pray for healing and that she makes it through this without further damage to her brain or body. Thanks for praying for us and all the words of encouragement. Addie is a tough little girl! Hopefully this will just be another speed bump. This is shocking to us, but not to God. Nothing catches him by surprise. He isnt afraid of anything. He doesnt take time off, and most of all, He doesnt stop loving us and giving us the faith we need. So were just going to rely on the unchanging, unfailing love of God to give us the faith and strength we need to get through this. Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
