ADEKANMI FATAI ADETUNJI was born on d 19th of September, 1961 to d family of late Alhaji Salaudeen Oyinlade Adetunji ( Chief Imam of Ishale Ade Mosque, Offa) & Late Madam Rafatu Asunke Adetunji of Ile Adikuku, Offa. He started his elementary school in 1967 & passed through Ansar - ud - deen Primary School (1967 - 1973), Ansar -ud- deen College (1973 - 78), Kwara College of Technology & University of Ilorin (1983 - 1987), (1995 - 1999). He has d following academic qualifications: National Diploma (Electronics), Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng - Electrical Engineering), MBA. Engineer Adetunji is a chartered Engineer & has d following Professional qualifications: (1) MNSC (06454) (2) MNIM - Chartered (M42988) (3) C. Eng (R9263) MIEE OF London (2810331) (5) Fellow - Institute of Industrialist & Corporate Administrations of Nigeria. (6) Fellow - Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria. (7) Fellow - Certified Institute of Management (CIM03983) While in school Engr Adetunji was nickname suffer for all (SFA) because of his activism aimed at uplifting fellow down trodden colleagues. He was at different times elected into position of representation among which were: National Public Relation Officer for Offa Student Union as well as Branch Vice President of same Union between 1982 - 1983. He was d Hall Chairman of Sobi Hall, Kwara Tech (1982 - 1983) as well as d House Leader (S R C) for d same institution. He was a member of NUESA representative Council while in Unilorin, a member of Black Consciousness Movement (BCM) & co-founded d National Awareness & Consciousness Association of Nigeria where he served as a pioneer Secretary. He worked briefly with National Institute for Policy & Strategic Studies (NIPSS) - (March - October 1980) & did his National Youth Service (NYSC) at Shukura / Sokoto Hotel in Sokoto State. While there, he constructed d garden bar of Shukura Hotel; this prompted d Management to offer him placement which he politely turned down. He joined d then National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) in 1988 as Pupil Engineer & rose through to become Business Manager having served in various locations such as Oshogbo, Afam, Benin, Lagos, Ibadan, Offa, Shagamu, Ijebu-Ode, Ogbomosho, and Ilorin in different capacity at different time. He later stayed on through PHCN to IBEDC occasioned by privatization before voluntarily retired. Engr Adetunji is a member of several social clubs especially Evergreen Social Club of Offa where he served as pioneer president (1991 - 1993), Offa Club 80 where he is d incumbent General Secretary among others. He is d patron for CLUB DE ECLAT, Hairdressers Association of Nigeria, as well as special adviser to Forum for Advancement & Joint Artisans Club. Engr. Adetunji is a recipient of Nigeria Merit Gold Award for productivity (NIMGAP), Great Northern Nigeria Achievers Gold Award for Achievement (GNAGAD2011). Gold Merit Award by Ijakadi News Publication. Outstanding Leaders Gold Award by Offa Descendant Union (home branch) - 2010. Grass root man of d year Award by d Artisan Association, Offa - 2012. He was also conferred with an Honourary Doctorate Degree of Engineering by Bradley University, U.S.A. Engr. Adetunji is d Olu-Omo of Laje Land. He is happily married with children & believes in communal Service as well as youth employment through education.
