ADI Compasso dOro: The Ducati 1199 Panigale is the first ever motorcycle to be presented with Italys most important design award. Founded in 1954, the ADI Compasso dOro is the worlds longest established and most influential design award. Developed from an idea by Gio Ponti, it was first organized by the Rinascente department store group with the aim of highlighting the value and quality of early Italian-designed products. In 1964, ADI became responsible for its organisation, supervising its impartiality and integrity. The winner of the 23rd Compasso dOro Award, the 1199 Panigale, is the Ducati Superbike par excellence with innovation that has established the special machine as a new benchmark reference within its industry. Already regarded as an Italian icon of design, the 1199 Panigale presents incredible engineering solutions with design specifically intended to raise the performance bar as high as possible.
