Thanks! ______________________________________________________ Simply To Be Transformers Prime Fan Fiction – Optimus Prime – Script One Optimus Prime traveled alone on this routine patrol down the costal line. This day seemed to have a peaceful air about it, the warm sun shining brightly in the bright blue heavens above. It’s radiant, yellow beams raining down on Prime’s metal exterior, gleaming off his patriotic paint job and heating his plates. The brisk, cool breeze of the ocean gently brushing off the extra heat, leaving his plates cooled to settling temperatures. His massive metal framing mimicking that of the familiar semi-trucks which so often inhabited these highways, hauling their cargo in large trailers as they go. Tires rotating on the pavement’s surfacing and thrusting his titanic weight forward with ease, traveling a mere fifty-five miles per hour down the coastal line. This road sat just fifty feet above sea level, its path carved out of the side of a cliff whose lower walls had received many beatings from the water’s often angry waves. Though today, they seemed at ease, the waters lulling back and forth and gently gliding up the cliff side, spraying water droplets into the air which shimmered with delight in hues of colors in the sun’s powerful light. These droplets often hitting Optimus’ right side and clung to his sleek finish before they were cast away by the gentle breeze. He heard the song of birds who called out to their families and sung with the calming essence of Mother Nature. He felt calmed by this day, though he knew he must stay focused as the Decepticons were just as unpredictable as their Lord and Master, Megatron. The very thought of his once called brother now corrupt with the ideals of tyranny and lordship sent a familiar sharp pain to his spark. Though Optimus knew all too well he must not linger on such thoughts, as he had chosen his side just as Megatron had chosen his. Having grown so accustomed to the melancholy of warfare, he simply shrugged off the feeling and continued on with his patrol. His watchful optics scanned the skies, roads, and sea from within his vehicular disguise, careful not to overlook any smaller details which could cost him his life or the war. Optimus grew suspicious of this lonely road, as humans would often flock to these spots on warm days such as these. His side view mirrors adjusted as he began to take note of his lonely state on this drive and he watched his flanks for any signs of approaching danger. Nothing. He decided to radio into base to be sure that his own scanners were accurate with their blank readings. With a subtle “click” his comm link connected with the Team back at base. His voice echoed from deep within his chest, reining with power and authority as the Leader of the Autobots. His communications were firm and clear, his volume loud and echoing proudly off the Cliffside walls. “Optimus Prime to Base. Are there any signs of Decepticon Activity?” He waited anxiously for the team’s reply and was not kept waiting long, fore just soon after he had heard the sound of Arcee’s voice over the comm link. Her voice was soft, though her tone was stern and serious in her relay. “No readings of any Decepticon activity, but we will keep a look out.” Optimus’ reply was simple, though lower in volume, as his suspicions raised. “Understood.” He seemed to almost mutter the words as his mind began to trace through the possibilities of what Megatron could be planning. The road came to a sudden incline and his tires pushed his heavy framing up this mile long incline. His speeds slowed as he reached the top of this cliff and the road began to curve away from the ocean. The water seemed to jump up the side of the cliff, waiving a friendly farewell in his departure and continued on with its peaceful day. Optimus ignored the gesture and continued on on his patrols. The surface of this planet became masked with a new kind of disguise. Waves of green grass blew in the gentle breeze and trees began to sprout up in various places. He pushed into the shaded grove, the tree tops shielding him from the sky and sun and brining a well appreciated cool air about his heated plates. His mind began to settle at the thought of his lonely status and he began to take notice of this planet’s wondrous beauty. His speeds slowed and he cruised westward at a mere forty-five miles per hour, comfortable in his slow pace. After traveling farther down the highway, the ocean’s call no longer within range, he came to a dirt road which veered off to the right. Curiosity began to flow through the Prime’s mind as he began to travel down this road, picking up dust behind him in flurries. The tree tops formed a dome high above him, his gaze wandering over the trees and shrubbery he passed by. His brakes squealed in protest and his axels groaned as he slid to a stop just beyond the reach of the trees where the road had ended. With the grinding echo of metal plates and gears turning and twisting, his form began to shift. His plating quickly moved to new locations and Optimus Prime became an entirely new being. For a moment he had no form, he was free from the confines of this metal body and he felt as though he could fly with the winds, but then it was gone. His metal exterior quickly forming a new kind of bi-pedal cage around his being, plates locking into place and he stood upright again. His tracks ended at the edge of the dirt road and form there he took two, lengthy steps back into the sunshine. Before him was beauty. His mind gasped with wonder at the beautiful rolling hills and the lush green grass. His delicate lips hid beneath his battle mask, though they seemed to bend in a subtle smile. His bright blue optics gleamed with a light that emanated in a peaceful ray, glowing off the rims of his lenses in a golden-blue hue where the sun kissed his faceplating with warm lips. His brows raised over his optics and his expression softened at the land’s peaceful layout. His gaze slowly shifted over the horizon. The brisk, cool breeze gently blowing around him, pushing him to the west and away from the ocean. His dark servos hung lazily off their struts by his flanks, his digits relaxed and hanging from their hinges. His broad chest rose and fell with ventilation and with a heavy sigh his muscles relaxed. Weight shifting off to his right side, his hips swaying to comply with this shift. His pedes lay flat on the grass’ cool surface and cushioning the weight of his stance with a comfortable, soft touch. The free blades danced around his pedes in the wind, enjoying the light of the sun and basking in its own beauty. His spark hummed with a peaceful pulsation which warmed his very core and cooled his hot, energon filled veins. A peaceful wave washed over his very being and left an eased essence behind in its path, leaving him in a state of subtle joy. The large Autobot leader pondered the nature of this planet. Earth seemed to call out to him, reminding him of the reason he protects this planet and rewarding him for his selfless efforts on this foreign soil. His mind traced through the pure ecstasy of this moment as he basked in the sun’s warm rays. Enjoying the cooling sensations that the winds brought and back through the comforting cycle again. He thought on of the war and how moments like this were so precious and at that moment he truly realized what it was that he had sworn to protect. He stepped forward on his left ped, repositioning it underneath himself, straightened his shoulders and pushed his chestplating outward with pride. The subtle smile beneath his masking became proud and certain. For in this moment he knew that one of the best things to do was simply to be. ©~*Skylight* fan fiction facebook/OrionPaxTFP
