☆ADMIN☆ now our Meet the Admin tour bus stops in the Midwest.. Iowa to be exact. . Where we had a chance to ask one of the Long time Admins Todd Sappenfield a few Questions. Todd I know your busy so I appreciate you taking the time to visit with me real fast, we will try and be done before dark here.. I know you folks go to bed pretty early around here dont you :) You were here pretty much in the beginning werent you? Before the group was even a group right? TODD: It was a group when I arrived , If I remember right we were at about 2600 members What was it like back then...? What did you have 3 or 4 posts a day? TODD: No, actually it was pretty active back then. My first day as an admin we added about 1000 members. So how long have you been cooking in cast iron cookware? Todd: Since about 8 AM this morning but I am done for the day now! :) What is the favorite piece in your collection? TODD : I dont really have a favorite piece right now. I am still looking for it. My most used piece is a gate marked skillet/griddle. I have seen you smoke some pretty awesome looking pieces of meat..but What Do YOU think is your best dish? ToDD : I dont know for sure I am always trying to improve, but that Prime Rib tonight was pretty tasty In my House Todd is known for a meatloaf recipe..alot of people, know him for the knife repair stuff... but what is Todd NOT known for that would suprise us? TODD : Owning too many vehicles We currently have 8. Your profile pic shows ya sitting on a motorcycle. .so what do ya ride? TODD : A 2002 Electra Glide Lets just say the warden says you get your last meal... anything at all you want... what do ya ask for? TODD : One of everything, and Im not going until it is all gone. We have talked about Oscar being called Oscar the grouch..and I have even heard of Poppa smurf...how about you any nicknames? TODD : Yea, but this is a family oriented group and I dont wanna get the ban hammer. What about pets... cats, dogs? Pet gold fish? TODD: 1 German Shepherd Dog his name is Blaze So whats the prize of your cast iron collection? TODD : I have a CO that I won as a prize once. But I am pretty fond of my Wagner Bundt pan and the hammered Chicken fryer and lid. How about any words of wisdom from one of the elders of the staff to anyone just getting into cast iron .? TODD: Watch out this cast iron stuff can be addicting. and if you are new and have questions please ask. There are plenty of people here to help you out.
