ADOPTABLE PET: Meet Milo! Milo is a nearly two year old, neutered male, black and white, Dachshund Mix. Milo is a cheerful, spunky little guy in a compact, 30 pound body! Milo has a rough go so far and is ready for someone to give him a chance at a better life. He is a little shy with new people initially; he has lacked proper socialization in his life to help build his confidence and behaves like he may have been treated roughly by people in the past. Please commit to training Milo with entirely positive reinforcement techniques—a basic obedience class with a great, positive trainer will help get Milo off to a great start and speed bonding with his new person. Once bonded, Milo becomes an upbeat, happy buddy. He loves to go for walks and when he sees you coming with a leash his wiggly demeanor and smiling face seems to day “Yeah, let’s go!!” Milo has previously lived in a home with other dogs peacefully, but at the shelter we’ve found that his lack of confidence can lead him to act defensively around assertive, pushy dogs. Milo may do best as an old dog in his new home or a potential canine housemate will need to be introduced at the shelter prior to adoption. Still a young dog, Milo will do best in a home where he is given plenty of physical and mental activity. Milo is house trained and crate trained. A previous owner reported that Milo would sometimes chew inappropriately when left unsupervised, so utilizing a crate for these times is recommended.
