ADVERTISING MUST BE ONE OF THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGES AS WELL: Article 3, line 2 of government decree law 51/2011: basically requires that all advertising must be in one of the official languages, and if in another language a prominent translation in one of the official languages: Entende-se que a mensagem publicitária é facilmente entendida pelos destinatários quando expressa numa das línguas oficiais de Timor-Leste ou, quando expressa noutro idioma, reserve um espaço razoável para a inscrição dos dizeres em tetum e, ou, em português. They are starting to crack down on this. Got some notices the other day from the relevant ministry. Time to comply with the law folks. At least I have always advised my clients to comply.
