ADVICE NEEDED I have an almost 3 yr old son with SPD, speech delay and probable ADHD. (Its not confirmed bec of his age but every ped and therapist is expecting this to be a factor. His dad is severe ADHD) I try to use a gentle parenting approach, its difficult though and most ppl think Im not strict enough with him. Im trying to walk a line of being gentle but giving him the structure he craves. Our biggest problems right now are hitting and potty training. His OT doesnt think he has enough awareness to know when he is wet bec he will walk around in a saggy diaper all day if I let him. He knows he pees sometimes, he just doesnt mind it. Im having a really hard time conveying this to my husband (his dad). How do you even try to potty train with this issue? Then there is the hitting. Its his go to for frustration. Im trying to use the whole Im the boss of my hands, hands be nice method now. How do you handle hitting with a child that has SPD and ADHD? Because I need some sort of preferably gentle solution that I can use across the board whether hes overstimulated or just being a typical two year old. Any advice would be so helpful!
