ADVICE NEEDED fro Special Mom #psnm00693 My daughter has bacterial meningitis at 5 weeks old. She is soon to be 8 (dec 18th). He is some what verbal. Able to hear with cochlear implants but is definitely delayed. She hasnt been diagnosed with autism but has very similar behavior. This is just to summarize... My question is how to potty train. We have tried anything and everything you can think of and she refuses. We can get her to sit on the normal toilet and a potty chair but nothing ever happens. I think she knows what is suppose to happen. When she gets upset she takes her pants including diaper off.. Maybe her brain doesnt sense the urges?! I dont know.. I feel as if Im failing her as her mother.. *She is somewhat verbal. I believe she understands more than she wants you to know..
