ADVICE NEEDED fro Special Teacher and Friend #psnm00798 Thank you for welcoming me into your Parenting Special Needs community. I am not a parent of a child with special needs but have been and still am a Spec Ed teacher assisting children with a variety of special needs. I am seeking suggestions for two mothers each of whom has a 35 year old “child” and each is experiencing frustrating times trying to keep their child entertained / occupied during those times when they are not at their usual day accommodation. Holiday times are a particularly difficult time. I suggested an iPad and recommended several apps that would be enjoyable and within their capacity. Karioke was another idea that we tossed around. Do you have any other suggestions that may be suitable for two young ladies in their mid-thirties who are physically independent but who have developmental delay? I particularly would like activities that do not require close supervision because these dedicated mothers need some time off. Thanks in advance for all suggestions.
