ADVICE NEEDED post# t002 My 9 year old daughter has PLAN/NAD and Autism spectrum. Developmentally she is like a 3-4 year old with some knowledge of a 9 year old. We are having problems with her sleeping, she is getting up in the middle of the night most nights and she keeps getting into things to eat. Short of locking everything (which is hard as we have 4 other children in the house) I dont know what to do. She does not eat dinner most nights either, which I assume is in part why she is eating in the middle of the night. We have tried seeing a nutritionist to address the eating problems, we have tried melatonin and clonidine to help her sleep but when she was on that she was sleeping so soundly she was wetting the bed most nights or she would still not sleep. The medicines she takes for her disease are all sedatives which should by themselves be helping her sleep. We have discussed this with the neurologist who handles all of her medicines and we have pretty much ran out of options to fix her sleeping issues. She goes in next month for a sleep study to check for apnea but I dont think that is the issue. Please help!
