ADVISORY: Regarding the Cenotaph Vigils. as a general rule, serving CAF members should NOT be participating in these events, either in uniform or otherwise. Not only would it be inappropriate to give a perception of “representing” the CAF it also runs counter to the desired effects of the force protection measures currently in place. Personnel at all levels are to take note and Formations/Units are to ensure CAF members abide by practices that remain in the best interest of the CAF, as well as their own personal protection. Therefore, those who participate in these events in uniform will be disobeying direct orders. In addition, as a college of mine pointed out, we would be presenting a target that could potentially place innocent civilians in harm’s way. Though the vigils are a great idea, consider the ramifications of your actions in either case. ~Johnny G~
