AFRICA ARISE CONFERENCE Father Reverand Chikane, Be Against Deviation that Costs the poor Africans ▪Opening : God made Rev Chikane to go through all the corridors of life deliberately. And came to understand the theologies of all churches. Also been in places were temptation is abundant, were ones faith is tested. He stands against Deviation ▪Africa Arise has to do with Liberation of the mind of an African ▪HERITAGE DAY is intergration of cultures, unearthing and understanding of life. With dynamic Cultures ▪understanding of the use of time...Church is the best place to be for someone who stays in a shack. And Fame can alienate you from your people, they seem strange to you ▪for us to say AFRICA ARISE it means somethings have gone wrong somewhere, whats happening today doesnt add up. Were not treated like an image of God as it says in the Bible 1. AFRICA has precious natural resources. But we are poor when we are supposed to be Rich 2. Black theology made discover our rights and that we are made in Gods image 3. Struggle for liberation fought by Bantu teachers ensured & stood for best pevel of education for Bantu people 4. Black students who had good matric results could not be admitted at Wits University (whites only institution), due to apartheid ▪Bible/Gospel has to be liberated from the oppressor, for those who were victims to be free. And no one has the right to use the Bible to oppress Gods image ▪Gospel must be freed from the evil people, hes also a God of Black people ▪doctors, scientists & everything in Africa was white. AFRICA is the cradle of humanity, calculations/pythagorus came from Egypt (in Africa) the PYRAMIDS could be made without the pythagorus theorem. SA CODE OF ARM was sketched & created by a poor black man (not known till today) & all credit, fame & money went to the one who drew it (a white man) ▪in France they relied on doctors who came from Timbactu (Africa) ▪Joke : when Bishop Desmond Tutu when he was flewn by a black pilot. He was not sure if he was to reach his destination alive (Liberation through Education) ▪SOMETHING CATASTROPHIC HAPPENED 1. Kings colaborated to buy slaves, just as today we see (unexperienced people made to lead). Money buys & opens door 2. Deviation...Domination by foreign power 3. RACISM justified Slavery & then came Corruption by African leaders who sold African wealth to Colonialists at the expense of the Poor Africans 4. OPPRESIVE COLONIALISM...Europe is what it is today by Africas wealth/resources. Our leaders work for Oppressors. Theyre given free holiday homes in foreign countries. Colonialists were Oppressing Africa & spoke Democracy is their own countries ▪WE ARE A ONE PARTY STATE...products of Colonialism ▪Psychological liberation....emancipation from believing in a white person for survival. Our minds have to be Liberated. We need to make ssre we are not easy to buy as Africans ▪Physical liberation we have won it...but there has to be Spiritual Liberation, Liberation from Colonial Power ▪SAs 70% budget comes from outside. Money to run SANDF is from outside even to pay our soldiers ▪International criminal court....USA is exempted from this law. Yet they sit in the Security Council but not affected by the Laws they make. ▪a Corrupt Leader is on sale...can be bought & corrupted. Leaders get offers & donations. They get money from cyndicates (corrupt & self serving business people & other foreign states) ▪Our leaders need Spiritual liberation....believing in God & making Him a reference which is beyond themselves ▪IMAGE OF GOD.....needs to be proud, were representatives of God today ▪Liberation from Colonial Power....will be through Spiritual emancipation. COLOSIANS 3:10.....do not lie to one another. A child of God needs to stripe the old self, be renewed & recreated in the image of your creator ▪2 CORINTHIANS 5:17......become a new creation with a new reference point. African leaders should be against the Deviation that costs the poor Africans ▪ ROMANS 12:2......do not be conformed to this world. When you see corrupt people benefiting bribes from cyndicates. Dont be like those, be transformed so that you may discern ▪AFRICA WILL NOT ARISE IF WE ARE NOT LIBERATED FROM CORRUPTIONS. WE MUST NOT CONFORM TO COLONIAL POWERS. THERES NOTHING WRONG BEING BLACK
