AFTER ME THE DELUGE: These fatal but historic words were uttered by King Louis XV of France. The life-stye of King and his mistress, Madame Pampadour, was one that bordered on complete madness and recklessness.The country was being driven deeper and deeper into abject poverty while the King and his nobles, landed gentry, the court jesters and parasites were having the time of their lives. Loot, plunder and pillage of the country by the corrupt had taken its toll on the down-trodden and vast majority of the mostly poor segment of the countrys population. To all this catastrophic, ominous signs of the approaching storm, King Louis the XV is reported to have uttered these fateful words,After me the Deluge.. Sure enough, the Deluge came 15 years after his death in the form of the French Revolution of 1789 which had reverberations the world over. Over here, in our country, unfortunately, we see the same ominous signs of an impending catastrophic storm. The Looters and Plunderers of our poor country are only worried about derailment of Democracy (derailment of their system of loot and plunder) and give a damn to the horrible and miserable conditions their recklessness has plunged the entire Nation into.
