AGA and the American Public Gas Association released the following statement in advance of the public meeting being held tomorrow by the U.S. Department of Energy related to a proposed rule to consider amended energy conservation standards for residential non-weatherized gas furnaces and mobile home gas furnaces. “Natural gas utilities are grateful for the opportunity to participate in an open dialogue about a smart way to move forward with the standard for condensing natural gas furnaces that is best for consumers and our environment and we look forward to a productive discussion,” said Kathryn Clay, AGA’s Vice President of Policy Strategy. “We believe that there are several factors that need to be considered so that this standard can continue the trend of more efficient and more affordable residential energy use while lowering greenhouse gas emissions. We appreciate the department’s consideration of our proposal.”
