AGE.... This morning at my usual matatu stop i was next to an old man who seemed to be in a hurry. Unfortunately for him the mats were not coming and this made many other passengers walk off probably to other points where the mats would have been turning back to town. The old man walked to me en asked if mats do stop at that point which i told him was a stop. From his accent he was from Mt. Kenya region where they grow Miraa. He asked if i was going to town and wat the problem might be. I explained to him around that hour most mats are in town and were making their way back after the morning drops. He told me he was new around and had been to visit his daughter, who did not tell him to wake up early to easily get a mat. I told him it was possible she didnt know about the mat problem unless she worked and left her house around that time or maybe she even has a car thus doesnt know about mats. Shortly as we were waiting his phone rang. After he answered and finished he informed me it was his son who was asking why he was late since they had an appointment with a doc. I felt his frustration on being late en told him not to worry the son would wait for him, however long he took since as the dad he has also waited on him years ago when he was growing up. He felt good and laughed out loud en told me, Yes i waited for him to shower, dress and have breakfast before i took him to School. It was my turn to smile.....en i remembered my Dad.Be respectful to ua PARENTS. When a mat came later i made sure he was the first one on board. He was sooo happy i felt good en imagined the conversation he was going to have with the son when he got to town.
