AH! Okay I just figured out the clutch on Ello. Thank you to Rebecca Davis for this: to find a friend, the easiest thing to do is type this in your browser ello.co/friendname. So you have to know the persons handle (aka user name, elloname, whatthefrakever). So Im erinmcgaughan (because Im not actually hiding from people and I dont have an alternate business name). So shall we try Ello for a while? Dont mind the overly self-conscious hipster fonts and poseur IKEA design BS. Im sure theyll humanize it more as it gets going. To post, you type into the black bar and then mouse hover around the lower right where theyve put a very subtle arrow. It is apparently designed to be slightly frustrating to anyone with eyes older than 40, but thats just an extension of the ooh its super secret INVITE ONLY appeal. Im calling it the fixy of the social media world.
