AIM - ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT MUSEUMS AIM urges more joined-up approach to promote cultural tourism. AIM would welcome a more joined-up approach across government to promote the UK’s cultural tourism sector. In its submission to the Culture, Media & Sport Committee’s inquiry into tourism, AIM says that while it understands resources are limited it feels there is much that could be achieved with greater co-ordination. AIM chairman Matthew Tanner says AIM thinks that the contribution of the independent museum sector and the social/economic impact of cultural tourism is “not well understood” by UK government departments such as BIS (Department for Business, Innovation & Skills) and its delivery partners such as the Local Enterprise Partnerships in England.
