AIMIM v/s Shivsena in Aurangabad In Aurangabad central and Aurangabad east the collapse of major alliances and the entry of # AIMIM into the poll fray has upset the chances of all the established candidates in these two seats having sizeable Muslim population making it a multi-cornered contest. In Aurangabad east, the entry of #AIMIMs educationist-turned- politician Abdul Gaffar Qadri has made the going tough for Darda. Qadri is likely to get a large chunk of Muslim votes, most of which usually went to Darda in the earlier polls. Aurangabad Central is set to witness a close contest between the Sena, BJP and #AIMIM nominees, while other candidates of the NCP and Congress appear to have not made an impact. The Sena has fielded sitting MLA Pradeep Jaiswal, while the BJP roped in former party MLC Kishanchand Tanwani. However, the entry of senior journalist Imityaz Jaleel as an #AIMIM nominee has changed the equation in the constituency having a sizeable population of Muslims. A political analyst said the situation is so confusing in the constituency that it has become hard to predict the winner. However, the voting pattern suggests that voters want a change.
