This exciting and key role involves working as part of a small team within AIP Publishing to steer, alongside each journals Editor-in-Chief, the editorial and publishing direction of the journals. Creative solutions and innovative approaches are sought to ensure the journals remain at the cutting edge in both content and presentation. As a Journal Manager you will have regular interactions with the academic community so you can adapt the r journals to the changing needs of their authors and readers as both the research landscape and the publishing industry rapidly evolve. This requires a good understanding of the scientific research process and the ability to engage the academic community of editors and researchers by representing the journals, and AIP Publishing, through international academic conferences and on-site laboratory visits. Therefore the successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and be prepared to travel. Journal Managers work closely with colleagues in Marketing, Web-Design, Editorial Production and the editors in external editorial offices to monitor and create development plans for each of their journals, acting as the linchpin for driving journals initiatives. Thus candidates should be able to work in a collaborative team environment, and have excellent time management and organizational skills as well as the ability to take responsibility, assess complex situations, and work on their own initiative. Qualifications: While training will be provided, the ideal candidate should have a PhD, or equivalent, in a relevant field. Experience in scientific publishing, including product development, market research, budgeting, or editorial functions are desirable but not essential. Account Sales Manager Lead the effort to sell subscriptions of the AIP product portfolio across the assigned territory. At its core, this is a solution sell position, requiring the incumbent to fully understand clients information needs and ensure that professional, productive relationships are established and maintained with key representatives of those clients. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in business or related field and five years relevant experience in a sales and marketing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong interpersonal relationship skills highly desirable, with an emphasis on customer relations. Ability to work in cross-functional teams of AIP staff. Professional demeanor and ability to give formal presentations and/or informal reports to other staff. Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time. Familiarity with the STM Publishing environment a plus. Ability to read and converse in another language highly desirable. IT Coordinator Provide consistent and quality technical and customer service for the IT Operations Group. This includes: providing support as directed for functions related to PCI compliance, IT policy and governance, risk management, project coordination and budgeting. Qualifications: *Associates degree (B.S. preferred) with an emphasis on Information Technology, or equivalent work experience desired *2-3 year’s proven IT coordination and support experience. Experience with coordinating multiple and diverse IT activities at the same time *Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Window, MS Office, and MS Outlook in an MS Exchange environment. *Knowledge of desktop management principals and available tools. Knowledge of Laptop and PC Hardware support *Strong interpersonal and communication skills *Must be highly organized and able to work in a flexible, fast-paced, technological environment *Attention to detail while completing repetitive tasks *Ability to analyze and resolve new problems quickly System Administrator The System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of server hardware and software and related virtual server infrastructure in both an on premises and cloud environment. Ensure that related procedures adhere to organizational standards and policies. Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing improvement and innovation within the servicer infrastructure. Qualifications: Technical Competencies: Advanced knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, Active Director design and maintenance, and Windows File and Print Services including DFS (6-8 years). Experience configuring and supporting IIS, Group Policy management and basic Microsoft Exchange administration (4-6 years). Proficient in VBScript, PowerShell, and/or other scripting languages. Experience with VMware VSphere and VCloud administration. 4-6 years experience with Basic Linux System administration and 2-4 years experience in administration of ISCSI SANs from Netapp, EMC or other manufacturers. Other skills and abilities: Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced, technological environment. Attention to detail while completing complex tasks. Ability to analyze datasets and to develop desired reports. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or other related field. Systems Administration/System engineering certification in Microsoft windows server and/or Linux or equivalent work experience. 6-8 years system administration experience.
