AIR QUALITY ADVISORY: The Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the Northern Health Authority has issued an air quality advisory for Smithers, Telkwa, Houston and Burns Lake because of high concentrations of fine particulates which are expected to persist for the next few days. Please note that under the Town of Smithers Wood Burning Appliance Smoke Control Bylaw 1520, No person shall use a wood-burning appliance at any time when an air quality advisory is in effect, except to heat premises that are equipped with no heating appliance or facilities other than the wood burning appliance.
